Step-by-step guide for adding one Node to ICM.
Open InfoWorks ICM ๐:
- Start by launching the InfoWorks ICM software on your computer.
Create a New Project ๐:
- Go to File > New or click on the "New" icon.
- Provide a name for the project and choose a directory where the project files will be saved.
Open the Map View ๐บ️:
- Once your project is created, you'll be in the 'Map View' by default. This is where you'll create and view your hydraulic models.
Setting up the Background Map (Optional) ๐:
- If you have a background map or image that you want to use as a reference, you can import it. This might not be necessary for a one-node model but can be helpful if you're planning to expand the model in the future.
- Go to the layers or map settings and choose the option to import a background map or image. Follow the prompts to import and position your map or image.
Add a Node ๐:
- From the toolbar, select the node or manhole tool (usually represented by a circle icon).
- Click on the map view where you want to place the node. A node will be added to that position.
Edit Node Properties ✏️:
- Right-click on the node you've just added and select "Properties" or similar option.
- In the properties window, you can define various attributes of the node such as invert level, initial water depth, and other parameters based on your requirements.
Run the Model (Optional) ๐♂️:
- Even though you've only added one node, you can run the model to see how it behaves under certain conditions.
- Go to the 'Simulation' or 'Run' menu and set up the simulation parameters.
- Run the model and observe the results.
Save Your Work ๐พ:
- It's a good habit to save your work regularly. Go to File > Save or click the "Save" icon.
Expanding the Model ๐:
- If you decide to add more components to your model in the future, you can easily do so by adding more nodes, links, and other hydraulic elements from the toolbar.
Documenting and Reporting ๐:
- InfoWorks ICM usually provides tools for documenting your model, creating reports, and exporting results. Utilize these tools as required.
